Artwork Description

I like bugs, I really do. Inspired by the enchanting elegance of a delicate dancing queen, this fantasy watercolor blends the graceful forms of ballerinas with the surreal beauty of praying mantises. Part of a series that delves into the ethereal dance of nature and its captivating oddities, this piece adds a touch of otherworldly charm to any space, creating a serene yet intriguing atmosphere."

Artist Bio

"I don’t know exactly who I am as an artist—or as a person—anymore, but that’s okay.

I’ve lived a fortunate life—many lifetimes in one. A life that sounds more like fiction than fact: I’ve been shot at, trapped in raging fires, collided head-on with semitrailers, lost overboard in floods, and stalked. I’ve sipped tea with kings, danced with stars, and chewed the fat with super-criminals and come out of it all with a smile. I often ask myself, 'If today was the day, would I be okay with that?’… The answer is, yes.

Art has always been my crisis counsellor, my soul’s balm, my homing beacon. After a decade off the grid, I’m back at it—making a painterly mess once again. I still don’t know exactly who I am as an artist, but maybe that’s part of the fun. Every painting I create is an offering to the wild, unpredictable adventure of life.
And in the words of Douglas Adams, I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be.
