Emerald. Contemporary vibrant rippled wall sculpture

Lush emerald greens are offset with opulent purple on an elegant hand-made wall sculpture covered a variety of different kinds of glass and mirror.
An undulating, unusual work that’s shape was inspired by a scrunched piece of paper. An ancient and enduring art form now pays homage to a throwaway society.

Emerald was originally part of my Discarded Collection which explored transience through permanence. It is featured in my book ‘Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic’. It will be sent with a Certificate of Authenticity and registration document for the NRAA (National Registry of Australian Artists).
Emerald has a hook on the back for immediate hanging.
It is signed and dated on the reverse.

Biography

Based in Melbourne, Julee Latimer creates dynamic, textural works that challenge traditional painting. By pouring paint onto plastic surfaces and peeling it away, she treats the medium as a solid material, blending elements of textiles with three-dimensional form. Each piece is crafted through extensive cutting and assembly, resulting in intricate, tactile compositions.

Her work has been recognized as a finalist in major art prizes and is held in international collections, including Hotel Capella (Sydney), Hotel Conrad Orchard (Singapore) and the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (Chicago, USA).
