Artwork Description

This painting is a memory of a sunny February morning β€” my first stop in Tasmania, brought here by a local friend to the historic village of Richmond. Though small, it left a lasting impression with its beautifully preserved Georgian architecture.

The the whole corner of that street captivated me β€” the charming Ashmore cafΓ© (which serves lovely food, I can confirm) nestled among the heritage buildings, bathed in soft morning light. I circled the scene for a while, camera in hand, trying to capture it from different angle. This painting is the result of that morning β€” an attempt to bottle the stillness and simple beauty of a street corner I hope to visit again.

Artist Bio

Ten years ago, I moved to Australia β€” a decision that quietly reawakened a passion I thought I'd left behind long ago: painting. Somewhere between building a new life and discovering a new lifestyle, art found its way back to me, drawn out by the beauty of the Australian landscape, its light, and its ever-changing scenery.

What began as a rediscovery soon became a ritual. After long working days, painting became my meditation β€” a quiet space where I could slow down, breathe, and simply be present with colour.

Colour is at the heart of everything I create. I'm endlessly drawn to it, energised by it, and genuinely believe in its power to shift our mood and enrich our everyday lives. My work often explores structured, colour-block techniques fused with still life β€” a style that lets me play with form, harmony, and vibrancy all at once.

Through my art, I hope to spread joy β€” the kind found in colour, in stillness, and in the small, often overlooked moments of everyday life. My wish is that when you look at my work, you feel not just its colour, but its depth, its happiness, and a genuine sense of connection.
