Artwork Description

Last year I snorkelled for the very first time, off the coast of Moreton Island, eager to see every bit of sea life I could find. The experience didn't disappoint β€” I drifted over old shipwrecks, spotted shells scattered across the sand, watched fish big and small dart through swaying seaweed, and even had dolphins glide by in the distance.

The one creature missing from that day was a turtle. No matter how much I searched, none crossed my path β€” so I decided to paint the one I never saw :D

Artist Bio

Ten years ago, I moved to Australia and found my way back to a long-forgotten passion of mine: painting. As I built a new life, art became a relaxing and enjoyable part of my everyday routine.

Painting gives me a quiet moment to slow down, breathe, and focus on colour. Over the years, it has also taught me to notice and enjoy the little things β€” an arrangement of objects, a beautiful combination of colours, or a calm moment at home. It has helped me appreciate the world around me more than ever.

Colour sits at the heart of my work, and I love the energy and happiness it brings β€” I believe it has the power to brighten our homes and lift our moods. My paintings often combine simple colour-block shapes with still-life subjects, letting me explore balance, form, and playful combinations of colour. Alongside this, I'm drawn to textured art, adding depth, movement, and a tactile quality to my pieces.

I love moving between techniques and materials β€” art is so versatile and beautiful that I could never choose just one way to create. Each approach offers something different, and exploring them all keeps my practice fresh, playful, and true to how I see the world.

Through my art, I hope to share a little joy and calm. Inspired by small, everyday moments, I hope my work brings a sense of warmth, colour, texture, and connection to those who see it.
