Horses possess a raw, untamed freedom in their very nature, yet for centuries, humanity has asked them to bear the weight of our manual labor. This paradox has fascinated me for a long time.
In this piece, I wanted to capture the horse in its most lighthearted state. "I Strive for Joy" moves away from the burden of work and the struggle for freedom, focusing instead on the pure, uncomplicated exuberance of being alive.
Visually, I have used a palette of warm oranges and corals to represent an internal glow of happiness, set against a bright blue background that suggests a clear, limitless horizon. It is a celebration of spirit, vitality, and the pursuit of a joyful existence.
