In this piece, I wanted to strip away the traditional "softness" of still-life painting and instead explore the raw, vibrant energy of the everyday. Mandarins are often associated with abundance and zest, but here they are reimagined as a study of form and light.
By using a high-contrast palette and geometric shapes, I’ve transformed these simple objects into a bold statement of color. It is a celebration of the "extraordinary" found within the ordinary: capturing the punchy, bright essence of the fruit in a way that feels fresh, modern, and undeniably alive.
