Artwork Description

Anchor Man is the fourth and last painting in the Pop Art nautical series. Inspired by the my travels to the Cinque Terre in Italy. The painting depicts a bearded sailor smoking a pipe. there is a thundering red sky with a emblem of an anchor in the foreground. These Pop Art paintings are also Tattoo inspired.

Julian Smith Artist

Julian is a contemporary Artist specialising in acrylic, gouache and water colour. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia and has studied fine arts, graphic design, illustration design at Adelaide University and the Adelaide Central School of Art. Many of Julian’s works are large format which are supported by smaller detailed images. Bold Pop Art and vibrant colours characterise the stylised contemporary images which inspire feelings of bright and lively optimism.
