Captian

During my travels to Vernazza in the Cinque Terre, Italy I came across a gift shop which had an Illustration of a sailor on a T-shirt. I was really inspired by the graphic and decided to paint four Pop Art paintings of people and an Octopus. The paintings are in a nautical tattoo theme. This painting is of a woman in a sailors cap surrounded by an Octopus, ships wheel, bordered by a rope with a thundering yellow and red sky.

Julian Smith Artist

Julian is a contemporary Artist specialising in acrylic, gouache and water colour. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia and has studied fine arts, graphic design, illustration design at Adelaide University and the Adelaide Central School of Art. Many of Julian’s works are large format which are supported by smaller detailed images. Bold Pop Art and vibrant colours characterise the stylised contemporary images which inspire feelings of bright and lively optimism.
