Sea of Oman

During my travels to the Vernazza in the Cinque Terre in Italy I came across a gift shop that had T-shirt in the window which had an Illustration of a Sailor on it. the Illustration inspired me to paint a nautical Pop Art series. This painting titled Sea of Oman depicts a Saracen man with an English ship in the back ground. The detail in the middle ground of the painting shows a spy glass, book shell, lite candle and a lantern.

Julian Smith Artist

Julian is a contemporary Artist specialising in acrylic, gouache and water colour. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia and has studied fine arts, graphic design, illustration design at Adelaide University and the Adelaide Central School of Art. Many of Julian’s works are large format which are supported by smaller detailed images. Bold Pop Art and vibrant colours characterise the stylised contemporary images which inspire feelings of bright and lively optimism.
