Artwork Description

Oil on wood

Signed on the back.

Requiescere is from the Latin for repose, this was the promise I felt offered after the ascent to the top of Mount Cannibal, a walking track a hour to the east of Melbourne, to sit and take in the distant vistas as the storm clouds gather .
I have endeavored to portray that dark foreboding, the feeling of being overwhelmed and yet relaxed, a feeling of serenity
