Artwork Description

The roots of Banyan trees digging into the ground from even the high branches and spreading out remind us to do the same to feel grounded. The tree in this painting has an abundance of leaves and its roots harbour something deep in the earth. It could be something rich and nourishing, or it could be something growing, yet to come to fruition. That is up to you.

Artist Bio

Meditation is an important part of my creative practice and my paintings are dynamic yet calming. I hope they are used to bring a sense of peace, good energy and balance to the space they are in. Having lived in so many places around the world and having experienced so many different cultures, languages and artistic expression, I am often in awe of my surroundings, feeling like a tiny part of this natural and created world. I want to reflect the beauty I see without representing it like a photograph. I want the brush strokes, marks and drips to work together with the colours to create something that will make the viewer feel at least something similar to what I want to express. A feeling that cannot be put into words which satisfies the soul.
