Artwork Description

Art Deco Teapot and Limes
Acrylic on Canvas
by Julie Lynch

This original painting is part of my I'm a Little Teapot series, a joyful collection celebrating the simple beauty of treasured household objects. Featuring a sculptural Art Deco teapot resting on a boldly patterned plate, accompanied by freshly cut limes, the work explores the interplay of colour, shape, and light. Sweeping curves, vibrant blues and greens, and rich painterly textures create a lively contemporary still life with a distinctly nostalgic charm.

The geometric elegance of the teapot contrasts beautifully with the organic forms of the fruit, while the rhythmic patterning and confident brushwork bring energy and movement to the composition. Inspired by a love of collecting beautiful objects and the stories they carry, this piece invites the viewer to pause and find delight in everyday moments.

Artist Bio

Hi, I am Julie Lynch, a full-time artist with a passion for capturing the beauty of nature and the stories embedded in vintage and contemporary objects. Through my paintings, I aim to inspire a deeper connection to the world around us, offering moments of joy, reflection, and discovery.

Creativity has been a constant in my life. From an early age, I immersed myself in drawing, painting, and crafting, always drawn to the natural world and the treasured objects we collect along the way. Living near Sydney’s Cooks River, I find endless inspiration in the ever-changing landscape and the quiet beauty of my surroundings.

My work weaves together the vibrancy of nature with the character of found objects, each piece telling its own unique story. Using rich colours, bold compositions, and layered textures, I combine impasto techniques and collage to create art that feels full of movement and life.

I have had the privilege of exhibiting in galleries across Australia, with my work finding homes in collections both nationally and internationally. Beyond my own practice, I find great joy in teaching and leading workshops, sharing the creative process with others.

At its heart, my art is about transforming everyday beauty into something meaningful. I invite you to explore my collection and hope you find something that sparks inspiration and connection.
