Artwork Description

This standalone work was produced as part of my regular street photography practice that embraces chance encounters while seeking perfection in form, in the spirit of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s Decisive Moment philosophy. The work is a black and white film photograph printed on archival Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag paper and featuring rich grey tones and contrast. It will look its best framed in black and would beautifully contrast a solid-coloured wall. Limited edition of 10.

Artist Bio

I am a visual artist working primarily with photography and other lens-based media, though I love to blur boundaries and sometimes incorporate aspects of performance and installation into my work. I grew up in France and studied architecture before moving to Australia in 2006 to travel and develop my photography. In 2018 I obtained a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania and I currently live and work in Hobart. In my practice I explore ways to raise questions about the different types of environments in which we live. I find mundane things inspiring and I think they can reveal a lot about us. The work I make is an attempt to represent ordinary experience differently, question what is around me and promote another way of seeing.
