In Julie Robertson's signature figurative style, this artwork was inspired by her grandchildren... whenever she takes them for a walk they insist on picking flowers for mum, and they are usually the yellow 'weeds' that all mothers for all time have received at least once from their children :)

In this third depiction of the Flowers for Mum series, this sweet little girl gleefully claps as her big brother puts one of the flowers they picked in their mum's hair - such an endearing moment. In this artwork Julie has managed to capture so much emotion in such a simple interaction, something she loves to do.
