I have always wanted to be an artist and started drawing at an early age. I dabbled on and off over the years but started painting earnestly about 10 years ago after a few life changing events occurred. I found my art helped me through the tough times.
In Sept 2014 I received a R.A.D.F. funding grant which was used towards developing and painting a series of works The African Diaries, documenting a trip to Africa in 2013. In this exhibition I tried to capture the essence of Africa, the vibrant colours and unique wildlife. This was my fifth exhibition and I felt it was important to involve children so I conducted workshops for school children visiting the gallery with their teachers. I also held a morning tea for the African community in Mackay.
I have done many commissions and my paintings are on display in homes round Australia, Canada and USA.
I have a great love of the sea and my current paintings are mainly seascapes.
