Artwork Description

A portrait constructed entirely from concentric drawn lines, where geometry becomes image and pattern becomes identity. Through subtle variations in line density and spacing, the work transforms a simple circular system into a recognisable human presence. Balancing mathematical precision with the imperfections of hand-drawn mark-making, the piece explores the intersection of perception, technology, and organic form.

Pen and ink marker on 250gsm Fine Art Smooth Matte paper with black semi-gloss frame. Framed and ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Drawing from a background in multimedia, digital design, and computational creativity, Jun Lee uses code as both a tool and a collaborator. His work often begins with simple geometric rules, mathematical relationships, or procedural systems that are allowed to evolve into complex visual compositions. Through this process, rigid structures give rise to fluid forms, reflecting the tension between order and chaos, precision and intuition, machine logic and natural growth.

Central to his practice is an ongoing exploration of contrast: straight lines against flowing curves, digital precision against organic imperfection, and human creativity against algorithmic generation. Inspired by patterns found in nature. From branching root systems and cellular structures to erosion, growth, and emergence, his artworks seek to reveal unexpected connections between computational systems and biological processes.
