Artwork Description

This is an original one off, abstract painting on a circular Canvas that is framed and ready to hang on your beautiful wall.

In this smaller painting the colours and action subtly reflect nature and is inspired by mini-worlds discovered in rock pools, shorelines and a touch of geology in the formations and varied colours seen in cliff faces and stones. The shapes I have used and their arrangement are intended to form visual intrigue and create delight in the viewer. The roundness of the painting asks you to come in close as if looking through the circular lens of a microscope.

‘Bio-Sphere Rock Pool I’ belongs to my ‘Aqua Vitae’ Series, inspired by microscopic other worlds and aquatic wonderlands. Particle physics, pulsating atoms, cell growth, minuscule amoebas and of course I can never escape the otherworldliness of underwater sea life. I grew up in and by the sea. Ultimately the paintings are about our sense of awe and wonder at nature and the miraculous building blocks of life.

The big. The tiny. The sea. The molecules. The microscopic. These things I think about and look at when I create these paintings. They can be viewed as miniscule cell life just as easily as an underwater view or a rock pool garden with floating coral blooms.

Ultimately the paintings are about our sense of awe at nature and the miraculous miniscule building blocks of all life.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonder and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls finesse and intrigue for years to come.

ALL PAINTINGS ARE VARNISHED with Professional Quality Artists Varnish, once they have been photographed. This gives a protective surface and an exquisite sheen that really makes the colours powerful & eye-catching.

Artist Bio

I am an Australian artist creating experimental abstract paintings to brighten up your walls. Layers of colour, light and texture are designed to create interest and feelings of happiness.I am a Melbourne based artist who has been successfully exhibiting my paintings for over 30 years since completing a BFA in Painting at the Victorian College of the Arts. Over the years I have had many successful solo and group exhibitions in commercial galleries and artists run spaces. My paintings can be seen in many media publications and are held in private collections worldwide. This is my separate SALE site where I am selling paintings that have been more experimental or for some reason have not found their special home as they are in a different style to my usual more recent artworks. I do not wish to destroy them or paint over them as some artists may do with work they are not happy with, because I am happy with these artworks, I love them. Instead I would rather give others the chance to enjoy them and enjoy the spirit in which they were created.
