Artwork Description

This watercolour painting portrays a vibrant waterside scene where women sit in small boats, selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Framed by rows of coconut palms on either side, the composition captures the rhythm of daily life along the water, an enduring connection between people, livelihood, and landscape.

The fluidity of the watercolour medium reflects the gentle movement of the water, with soft washes and layered tones bringing a sense of warmth and vitality to the scene. The interplay of colour and light highlights both the richness of the produce and the quiet strength of the women at work.
