Artwork Description

This Original painting shows an African Savannah Elephant. Listed as endangered, their threats include habitat loss and poaching. I wanted to highlight their scarcity so I have painted a lone Elephant, although they are highly social animals, usually found in herds. The background of blues and yellows will brighten up any room, with the striking elephant as the centerpiece. Acrylic on canvas, sides painted.

I have always been inspired and intrigued by the natural world, the beautiful vast landscapes and the animals that we share this world with.
Given my interest in the environment, as a young adult I decided to study Environmental science. I soon realised that what I really love is to be creative, having dabbled in music, and drawing throughout my life. Specifically what I love is to draw and paint. Given that I draw my inspiration from the natural world and from animals, this is where my work is focused. Having studied science I gained a passion for conservation. I focus on endangered and vulnerable species mostly, and try to include them in all of my work to show the beauty of these animals and the natural environment they inhabit.
