Artwork Description

This work was influenced by my time living in Denmark and their breakfast culture of laying everything out on the table in all dining together making whatever food you would like to eat from whatever there is on the table.

Artist Bio

K A Platts is a self-taught Australian artist inspired by the colour, character and quiet beauty of the Australian landscape. Working primarily in painting, she draws inspiration from native flora, birds, waterways and the small details of the bush.
Her work uses simplified forms and expressive mark-making to capture the feeling of a place rather than simply reproduce it. Banksias, wattles, eucalypts and native birds are recurring subjects, reflecting her fascination with Australia’s unique natural environment.
Platts has exhibited throughout regional Australia and was a finalist in the John Villiers Outback Art Prize in Winton. In 2026, she was selected for the Glenaire Artist Residency on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, where she continued developing her practice in response to the surrounding landscape.
Through her work, Platts aims to encourage people to slow down, look closely and find beauty in the natural world around them
