The arches in this artwork represent the sun. Sunrise & Sunset. With the gentle background of the sea. Inspired by my home, Jervis Bay.
To create this piece, I took inspiration from the land. Then mixed plaster and a soft beige pigment to create a calming neutral colour and thickness to enhance the textured look.
This artwork can be felt, the grooves and the lines, a story to be told with sight and touch.
To seal the plaster and add depth to the grooves, I painted over top with a layer of acrylic. Then finished it with a layer of thin clear varnish to ensure the plaster remains on the canvas.
