Papers replaced by Digital. An ever-changing world.
This fine art rag print, handprinted by the artist, tells a story of eras colliding.
"Paper Boy" is a digital photographic composite that reflects on the changing landscape of media and information dissemination in the digital age. The image evokes a sense of nostalgia for the past, as the paper boy represents a disappearing figure in our modern world. The blue tones of the image add to this nostalgia, while the warm foreground of the paper boy standing alone on an empty street highlights the loneliness and isolation that can come with the shift towards digital media.
Through this artwork, I aim to explore the complex and often bittersweet emotions surrounding the transition from physical to digital media. While the digital age has brought many conveniences and efficiencies, it has also led to the loss of certain traditions and ways of life. "Paper Boy" serves as a tribute to the disappearing role of the paperboy, and encourages viewers to consider the impact of technological change on our society.
