Artwork Description

Bold, playful, and full of texture—this one-of-a-kind encaustic wax artwork brings a modern splash of pink, black, and white stripes into your space. The rich layers of wax create a soft sheen and subtle crackle effect, giving the piece a tactile depth you can’t help but admire up close.

Whether styled in a contemporary living room, a minimalist office, or a creative studio, this artwork adds a fresh pop of colour and personality without overwhelming a space. It’s the perfect choice for someone who loves clean lines with a touch of whimsy and wants a statement piece that’s both stylish and unique.

As an original encaustic work, no two pieces can ever be replicated—making this a truly special addition to your art collection or a thoughtful gift for someone who loves modern Australian art.

Artist Bio

Living on the picturesque escarpment of the Garden City of Toowoomba, in Queensland, Australia. Karen is married and the mother of three adult sons and a precious baby granddaughter.

Creativity has always been an essential part of Karen's life. Even from an early age it was apparent that this would be the direction her life would take her.

She has ventured down different creative paths including fashion design and window merchandising, but undoubtedly her visual arts practice is her main love.

For over 20 years she has explored different mediums including; acrylic paint, mixed media, textiles, wire art and encaustic wax.

Karen is fortunate to have an expansive studio space to work in and usually has several projects on the go at any given time. This of course can seem quite chaotic, but she is energised by the creative process and is never lost for ideas.

Experimentation is important in her process and she loves nothing more than creating beautiful and treasured objects from something unexpected or discarded.

Karen continues to explore new mediums and techniques to produce a diverse array of artwork.
Wire is used extensively in her work as she finds its versatility enables her to create sculptural and fluid pieces.

Karen's award winning art has been exhibited extensively and her commissioned pieces hang proudly in prominent residences and businesses here in Australia and abroad.
