“I like it when I get a physical reaction from people when they view my art. The whimsy, fun and sometimes political nature of life is evident in my work. By expressing the fierceness of a female, the ridiculous in a scenario , becomes a message turned into humour to soften the blow, breaking down barriers to acceptance. The expressionist nature of my work tries to blur the edges of reality and hopefully makes people smile, wonder and to think and create conversation.
Karen Chappelow has been Sculpting and painting for more than 20 years she has collectors both nationally and internationally. Recently working on collaborations in the fashion industry producing wearable art.
During COVID, Karen has just launched an online solo exhibition in collaboration with Humble House Gallery in Canberra- and participating in online exhibitions London recently sent has representation in Madrid Spain with 2 exhibitions booked, Luxembourg and New York with an exhibition commencing 1st March 2022
