I was born in Zimbabwe where I grew up surrounded and influenced by the art of my late father, artist Eli Zagoria. When I moved to Western Australia in 1984, I was captivated by the rugged beauty of the landscape which provides much of the inspiration for my work.
My overriding philosophy, both as an artist and teacher, is the pleasure taken in the 'doing' regardless of the end result. That passes on to the pleasure the viewer takes. I'm largely self-taught and have broadened my art practice by taking part in intensive workshops with many renowned artists around the Australia including Ian De Souza, Tony Smibert, and Judith White. I've exhibited widely in WA and work out of my studio in Morley, where I also run a wide range of art classes and workshops with a strong focus on teaching both adults and children in a fun and relaxing way.

I am attracted to shapes of colour, dark and light. The spaces created between and around subjects (negative space) especially intrigue me.
My mixed media process involves using a variety of paper, inks and acrylic to form rich layers. I often draw onto these layers to bring out the images.
