My love for the Coastline comes from growing up in New Zealand. Memories of harbour beaches with their very low tides where the bays stretch wide and the land is reflected in the wet sands

Karen Gemming is a watercolour artist based on the Sunshine Coast.
Seeking inspiration from the landscape around her and places previously travelled, her work touches on elements of impressionism.

Karen prefers the medium of watercolour to create depth, focussing on colour and the contrast between light and dark. While still observant of her traditional background, she seeks to experiment and use her intuition to create evocative images.

Karen has participated in group and solo exhibitions and sells her work from several galleries on the Sunshine Coast.
