Artwork Description

This large work is inspired by the area around the ancient Silbury Hill in Wiltshire, U K which some have theorised was a goddess worshipping site. The painting involved many layers of paint applied and then scraped back to reveal earlier layer, somewhat like an archeological dig.

Artist Bio

Award winning artist Karen runs a busy arts practice from her hand-sculpted cob studio/gallery at Yankalilla South Australia where she alternates between portraiture, abstract painting and fibre arts. A passion for colour and for experimenting with materials and techniques informs her practice. Her work features in private collections in both Australia and Europe.
