Karen Holden is a self taught artist in Eltham, Melbourne who has recently returned to painting after many years break to focus on family and a career in scientific research and law. Karen works with gouache and oils, and uses painting to connect with the natural world. Coastal landscapes, rocks, clouds and mountains are a reoccurring theme that provide a nostalgic link to summer holidays of her childhood and a love of the Australian beach that she shared with her Father. Karen also explores and experiments with colour and form in abstract works.
