Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas

Signed on the back.

Abstract landscape with mountains ,flowers,sun
Inspired by the Blue Mountains landscape. A place where I have been many times both by myself and with family and friends. This artwork tells a story of gathering bush medicine.

In my work I am interested in the connection between memory and the spaces we occupy. Music evokes emotional responses that can transport us to a time and place of our past.
Titled with the Wiradjuri word for Track ( the marks of passing objects and lyrics from Rita Coolidge We're All Alone

Exploring the connection between landscape and memory and more specifically the remnants and traces left in environments either in a physical form or as emotion.

Aboriginal peoples have walked this country for thousands of years, leaving tracks which are both tangible and spiritual.
I challenge the idea of ' Past' as something no longer existing. I believe it remains,in our memory and the land.In what we see and what we cannot.
