Traditionally in Aboriginal culture Songlines or 'Dreaming Tracks' were used to map country. The songs passed to each other to share where food, water , ceremonial sites and other significant landmarks.
A contemporary representation of this tradition I use music to evoke memory and place.
Exploring the connection between landscape and memory and more specifically the remnants and traces left in environments either in a physical form or as emotion.
Aboriginal peoples have walked this country for thousands of years, leaving tracks which are both tangible and spiritual.
I challenge the idea of ' Past' as something no longer existing. I believe it remains,in our memory and the land.In what we see and what we cannot.
