Abstract interpretation of birds. Canvas edges are painted to match the painting. Painting can be hung as is, or add a frame for that beautiful finishing touch.

Each piece is created intuitively and is comprised of interwoven layers of line work and colour. Flowing lines create a sense of flow and movement. Birds feature as a common thread throughout the artworks and are representational of personal freedom and authenticity.

Karen is a Brisbane based artist who grew up immersed in rural life on properties in South Australia and later in South-West Queensland. She was inspired to create from an early age by her mother who was a talented landscape artist. Some of her earliest art memories are of filling countless sketchbooks with detailed drawings of people and horses. These days her paintings are much more expressive and she finds herself more interested in capturing a feeling rather than a likeness. "It has been a long journey in learning to let go of controlling the ​creative process. I love the freedom of not having a plan and letting the artwork create its own path".
