Artwork Description

The glittering surface of water, ever-changing shapes, colours and textures -another painting where I try to capture its many facets, this time in an abstract, geometric way. Colours used are aquas, blues, purples, silvers. You can hang this any way you wish, and interpret it however you like - the shapes could be surfboards, fish, dappled light....enjoy!
Would be fabulous anywhere in a room with a view to water, or near water.

Artist Bio

I am drawn to the theme of water, whether it is the feeling of looking up through water; what it looks like from an aerial view, or what lives in and near water, and to convey it I experiment with textured surfaces and layered colour . My underwater paintings are inspired by Busselton Underwater Observatory's encrusted pylons with their array of waving coral, sponges, starfish, and other sea life the while the coastal paintings are inspired by my travels up and down the West Australian coast. Also my frequent walks along Perth's many beautiful beaches are always an inspiration.
I often use a colour called ‘Aqua Green Light’, and I love that this is both the name of a tube of paint but also an evocation of the world of water.
