Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed and numbered on the front.

During the Covid lockdown in 2020, I needed to find creative inspiration close to home. The agave plants growing in my garden inspired me and I am still continuing to capture them using various photographic techniques to describe the incredible form of these succulents. This image is bold and would look wonderful in a room seeking a strong and graphic image.

This image of a single pink calla lily is captured against black background. A long exposure and studio lighting was used to capture the form of the lily and the trail of movement with the camera hand held. The trails of movement in this image echo the form of the lily and create shapes resembling a heart. In this image with muted yellow and gold tones, ginkgo leaves tumble creating trails against the dark background.
