I am an Adelaide-based artist working mainly with acrylics on large canvases using vibrant colours that celebrate life.
After studying Advertising and Design in the 1980s, I then gained an Associate Diploma in Fine Arts from the North Adelaide School of Art in 1992, majoring in painting and drawing. Since then I've been painting full time, regularly exhibiting in solo and joint shows across South Australia, and you can see my new work in a permanent space at Ruby's Cafe at Stirling in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
The world is filled with such beauty and glorious colour, and it is the natural environment - especially flowers and their landscape - that inspires me. I get great joy from following the curve of a petal or the flick of a cat’s tail but it is colour, the sunny yellows, rich purples, and bright orange that feeds my need to paint. I imagine my paintbrush will always be busy.
My work is regularly described as bringing joy and happiness. Customers often say that my paintings have pride of place in their homes where they can bring a smile every day to those who pass by. And that makes me very proud.
