Completely ready to hang with hooks and wire attached at the back.
Lines of scratches often appear in my work when I have been feeling frustrated, angry, or low and am gathering my dogged determination to claw my way back from the abyss. I love how in this artwork the scratches are very deep, gouged through the paint and into the wood panel I was painting on, exposing some of the raw timber. The blue here represents rivers of tears/depression, the black scribbles represent the tangled mental mess I felt at the time, and the black dots the moments of grief I was enduring. Overall this painting speaks to fighting back from depression, not giving up.
