Simmering Horizons

This artwork uses rich coloured acrylic paint in turquoise, midnight blue and dusty pink and white. There are also the smallest touchers of burnt orange. The borders between the coloured panels are thinned and create free forming shapes and layers in the same way water colours can be represented. The middle panel of colour is a vivid turquoise green (the photos don't do it justice). The top third is steaky blush pink and white with textured horizontal ridges in places. The painting has a gloss varnish surface and is framed in a simple wooden frame which has been painted in a dusty pink wash.

I am a contemporary artist, painting on canvas with acrylic paint and sometimes mixed media. My work portrays nature, sea and land scapes, in an abstracted form. Imagery conveys not only the subject matter, but elements of texture, depth, energy and movement to connect with the viewer. I am inspired by the many wonders of the natural environment, by the rich experiences gained whilst travelling, and by a vivid imagination.
