Artwork Description

Layers of earthy greens and softened neutrals settle into a low, grounded horizon, where a muted bronze form holds the last trace of warmth. The textured surface feels worn and quiet, as if the day has already begun to slip away, leaving behind a sense of stillness that gently lingers. It's about the feeling of he last warmth held low at the end of the day, before everything quiets.

Its low horizon and grounded tones bring a sense of calm and quiet structure to a room. The muted bronze form acts as a gentle anchor, drawing the eye without overpowering, while the earthy greens and softened neutrals create a settled, lived-in warmth. It will add depth and stillness, above a sofa or console, in a bedroom, or anywhere you want a subtle focal point that holds the room together.

Please reach out if you prefer it unframed.

Artist Bio

I am a NSW based, mixed media painter. I work out of my main studio on the mid-coast of NSW as well as a smaller space in Sydney. Strongly influenced by my Scandinavian background, I am drawn to a subdued and neutral palette. Inspired by the natural environment, I infuse each piece with natural textures from my environment as well as emotion and passion, painting what I feel rather than what I see.

I like to evoke a sense of calm on the canvas using layering, subtle tone and texture to create curiosity and interest. I love to experiment with various non-conventional mediums and tools and also use my hands on the canvas. My paintings are rarely preconceived, as I like to respond intuitively to what's in front of me, playing with contrast such as bold vs quiet, thick vs thin, controlled vs uncontrolled, curves vs linear etc.

My process is centred around adding and removing/covering up, over many layers, leaving hints behind. I love the complexity and depth of the layers, as in life: looking through the facade, scratching the surface to see hints of what lies beneath. Mostly the first layer is about building up a textured base.

I am happy to do commissions based on other pieces. If you'd like to see something on your wall just send me a photo and I will superimpose the painting on your wall.
