Artwork Description

Layers of earthy greens and softened neutrals settle into a low, grounded horizon, where a muted bronze form holds the last trace of warmth. The textured surface feels worn and quiet, as if the day has already begun to slip away, leaving behind a sense of stillness that gently lingers. It's about the feeling of he last warmth held low at the end of the day, before everything quiets.

Its low horizon and grounded tones bring a sense of calm and quiet structure to a room. The muted bronze form acts as a gentle anchor, drawing the eye without overpowering, while the earthy greens and softened neutrals create a settled, lived-in warmth. It will add depth and stillness, above a sofa or console, in a bedroom, or anywhere you want a subtle focal point that holds the room together.

Please reach out if you prefer it unframed.

Artist Bio

Karin Cutler is a mixed media painter working between Sydney and her rural farm studio on the mid coast NSW. Her work moves between richly textured still life and abstraction, exploring the feeling behind the things that inspire her rather than simply describing them.

It’s never really about the subject.

Whether it’s a handful of blueberries, a weathered vessel or a memory of the ocean, these are simply starting points. Karin is drawn to the calm, familiarity and quiet beauty they leave behind.
Working with layers of paint, ash, charcoal, sand, marble dust and other natural materials, she creates paintings with depth, texture and a restrained, muted palette influenced in part by her Scandinavian heritage.

Inspired by the ocean, bush and rural landscape, her paintings are intended to bring a sense of calm, character and quiet presence to the spaces they inhabit.
