Artwork Description

Soft tones and gentle textures drift across the canvas in a foggy horizon, evoking a quiet, dreamy landscape. A meditative study in light, shadow, and stillness. Soft greys, deep inky blues with metallic silver hightlights on off-white.

A tonal composition designed to bring subtle movement and depth to refined interiors. Its soft, abstract layering offers a serene focal point without overwhelming a space—perfect for creating a calm, elegant atmosphere.

Artist Bio

Karin Cutler is a mixed media painter working between Sydney and her rural farm studio on the mid coast NSW. Her work moves between richly textured still life and abstraction, exploring the feeling behind the things that inspire her rather than simply describing them.

It’s never really about the subject.

Whether it’s a handful of blueberries, a weathered vessel or a memory of the ocean, these are simply starting points. Karin is drawn to the calm, familiarity and quiet beauty they leave behind.
Working with layers of paint, ash, charcoal, sand, marble dust and other natural materials, she creates paintings with depth, texture and a restrained, muted palette influenced in part by her Scandinavian heritage.

Inspired by the ocean, bush and rural landscape, her paintings are intended to bring a sense of calm, character and quiet presence to the spaces they inhabit.

I am happy to do commissions based on other pieces. If you'd like to see something on your wall just send me a photo and I will superimpose the painting on your wall.
