Artwork Description

My paintings often take weeks or months to complete. There are many layers, and often I just play with some paints and make marks with paints, and spray with water to encourage drips and textures. I use a variety of implements and colours to cover up the blank canvas.
Inspiration comes while I work. I don’t like to commit too early, so I experiment a lot, and at one point decide what I want to paint. I don’t worry too much about making mistakes, hence there will be some thick textures, which show through later on. I find perfection boring, so I try to stay loose and free. Inspiration is everywhere, but I have always admired artists like Picasso, Klee, Klimt, Rousseau, and the surrealists . One of my biggest influences is the late Laurel Burch.
The biggest challenge is that I can’t help using all the colours in my paint collection, and perhaps I’m a naive artist at heart. I love abstract and whimsical art. I enjoy painting animals in my own way.
Varnished and ready to hang. Sides painted black. Framing is optional, and can be arranged via Bluethumb at an extra cost.
