Inspired by a wander around a local lake, I became fascinated by the shapes and lines of reflections, shadows, living trees and dead trees - what was real and what was submerged, a shadow or mirrored.

Painted using a layering technique, on a base of vibrant red. The paint is applied both thick and thin with different tools. The sky and lake are painted in in a final layer of oil to achieve a contrasting sheen to the rest of the painting.

Nature’s Mirror has been created on a custom made deep edge cradled panel. I have painted the sides dark grey to complement the painting, so there’s no need to frame ( unless you want to)
