Artwork Description

Inspired by sunsets in the Northern Territory, Australia and my love of impressionist artists. The colours of sunsets of the Northern Territory are difficult to capture both on film and in paintings. I love how the colours seems to dance off the water's reflection in the NT.

I have tried to capture this sensation in this painting. The painting is a reimagining of the many sunsets I enjoyed in the NT in different locations while on holiday, but especially over the Darwin foreshore. What a special place.

This is a joyous painting that will instantly add sunshine and colour to any room.

Artist Bio

I am a freelance writer, artist, and art therapist. I have exhibited my work in shows across Melbourne and the peninsula and have received awards for my pen and ink drawings and acrylic work. I am an artist who loves to explore new styles and to push my own boundaries.

I am most drawn to landscapes, contemporary and abstract works. I generally use my own photographs as reference material, inspired by places I have been, or I work completely from imagination, trying to encapsulate a thought or feeling. Much of my acrylic work features textured, impressionist and expressionist styles. As an artist, I am always learning and finding news ways to express myself. As the daughter of an artist, I feel that art and creativity runs in my veins. I grew up playing in my dad's studio and now have one of my own to play in.
