"Self" is a deeply personal work that channels the emotional intensity of my own tumultuous upbringing through the lens of abstract expressionism. At the centre is a stylised skull wearing abstract headphones — a symbol of myself, representing identity, survival, and the internal noise that shaped me. Surrounding this figure, I’ve used bright, clashing colours, geometric forms, symbols and fragmented lettering to reflect the chaos, confusion, and resilience I’ve carried through the years. Every mark on the canvas holds a memory or feeling, layered and raw. "Self" isn’t just a painting — it’s a visual record of my emotional landscape, a way of giving form to experiences that shaped who I am.
