I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature or when looking at images of nature, we become aware of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
‘Moon Shadows’ is one of a new series of forest paintings informed by the coastal lakes and lakeside forests of Arakwal, Bundjalung, and Yuraygir National Parks in northern New South Wales. This work explores the interplay of light and shadow at dusk, where tree forms stand quietly against a glowing sky and the moon casts shadows on the sand .
Rendered with flattened perspective, strong silhouettes, and layered tonal contrasts, 'Moon Shadows' captures the mystique of a landscape caught between day and night—a space where memory lingers and emotion quietly surfaces.
