I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature we become aware of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
'Morning Mist' is part of a new series of forest paintings inspired by the coastal lakes and lakeside forests of Arakwal, Bundjalung, and Yuraygir National Parks in northern New South Wales. This work reflects my ongoing fascination with places where water meets land.
Composed with flattened perspective, simplified silhouettes, and a limited palette, 'Morning Mist' reflects the influence of Japanese woodblock prints. It offers a sense of peace and stillness.
