I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature or when looking at images of nature, we become aware of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
'Old Friends' is one of a new series of forest paintings informed by the coastal lakes and lakeside forests of Arakwal, Bundjalung, and Yuraygir National Parks in northern New South Wales. This painting evokes the gentle presence of a pair trees standing in quiet unity.
Rendered with flattened perspective and a restrained palette of greens, and gold, it invites the viewer to linger in a moment of quiet relationship. Through layered silhouettes and soft rhythms, Old Friends offers a subtle meditation on resilience, connection, and belonging in the natural world.
