Through my artwork, I seek to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and invite viewers to share in my personal experience of the natural world. When spending time in the forest we’re reminded of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
Regeneration was inspired by time spent in the open woodlands of Mount Kaputar National Park in New South Wales, as the bushland began to recover from fire. The silhouetted tree branches and faint new growth speak of resilience and renewal.
Rendered in flattened perspective with subtle gradients of soft pink, mauve, and violet, the painting evokes a sense of vastness and solitude.
Regeneration is is part of a broader series of landscape paintings exploring memory and place.
