I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature we become aware of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
‘Riverbank’ is one of a new series of forest paintings informed by the coastal lakes and lakeside forests of Arakwal, Bundjalung and Yuraygir National Parks in northern New South Wales. This work reflects my ongoing fascination with places where water meets land.
Influenced by Japanese woodblock prints, ‘Riverbank’ uses simplified forms and gentle tonal rhythms to convey a sense of timelessness and stillness.
