I hope to capture the spirit of the Australian landscape and share my experience of the natural world through my artwork. I believe that while spending time in nature we become aware of our own small place in the world, bringing a little perspective into our lives.
Rivermouth, is from a series of landscape paintings that focuses on the forests, lakes, and estuaries of northern New South Wales’ coastal national parks, inspired by the Japanese practice of “forest bathing”. This series invites viewers into a slow, sensory experience of reconnection with nature.
Rivermouth captures the view across still waters to the distant riverbanks and the bright sky above the mouth of the river. With its cool palette of deep blues and greens, the painting reflects the serenity of this quiet area.
