Artwork Description

Step beneath the surface. In this acrylic work, you aren't just an observer; you are part of the scene.

While the composition focuses on two divers, the heart of this painting lies in the 'curiosity' of the encounter. Inspired by personal memories of diving with seals at Montague Island (South Coast NSW), this piece is a tribute to those moments of connection beneath the surface - where we are not only the viewers, but are also being viewed by curious creatures.

Artist Bio

Sydney-based Artist | Acrylic & Watercolour Portraiture

I believe art is born from coincidence and exists entirely in the eye of the beholder. As a lifelong, self-taught artist, my creative journey has been a constant evolution of technique—a series of bold explorations in acrylics and watercolour.

While I enjoy experimenting with different materials, my focus remains firmly on people. I prefer painting portraits and human-centric scenes because, to me, living beings are infinitely more compelling than still life. My work is a reflection of the human experience, captured through the happy accidents that happen along the way.
