Artwork Description

This piece comes framed & ready to hang in a beautiful natural oak frame.
Kate's Parisian Garden series was inspired by an enchanting French woman she met on Hamilton Island in The Whitsundays, a couple of years ago. "We crossed paths, uninterestingly, at the marina laundry facilities! She was wearing a stunning sundress in the colours that ended up on my paper in this series. I had to stop and ask her where her dress was from. She answered me with a sunny smile & an exquisite French accent. “From my home town, Paris” she kindly replied. We chatted about our island adventures for a moment, then she walked away as though she was floating in a vibrant garden of her own wearing. I ran to our boat and committed the colour pallet to my journal."
All of Kate's Parisian Garden pieces grew from this chance meeting which she remembers vividly to this day. This is the 3rd in the Parisian Garden Series.

Artist Bio

Kate Edwards is a self-taught artist based on the stunning Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia.
Her art is an illustrative, detailed, whimsical & sometimes naive style, usually bursting with colour. Kate is happy exploring her whimsical creative world with acrylics or watercolour, ink or pen.
Kate rediscovered her childhood passion for art after stepping back from her years in the music industry. She traded her microphone for a paint brush & hasn't looked back.
Her inspiration comes from far & wide; a colourful, whimsy reef piece, inspired by her yearly family holidays in The Whitsundays; a bright and bold whimsical garden piece inspired by memories of European travels; an other worldly magical landscape inspired by childhood play.
This year Kate has started to step outside her world of watercolour, which first captured her creative attentions, to paint with acrylics & is loving the exploration! So watch this space!
